Šumava is located on the border of the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. The highest peak of Šumava is Veľký Javor (Grosser Arber) in Germany (1456 m). On the Czech side it is Plechý (1278 m). In Šumava are several famous rivers but the most famous is Vltava. The specific things in Šumava are the glacial lakes, which are occurring at an altitude of around 1000 m. You'll also find one of two Czech rainforeste, forest Boubín. There are many hiking trails here, and in winter many ski resorts. So it is a perfect palace for a family holiday. Ice-skaters can use a track on Lake Lipno.
