Subcarpathian Voivodeship (also known as Podkarpacie Province, or by its Polish name of województwo podkarpackie) is situated in the south-east of Poland and borders Slovakia and Ukraine. This region has agricultural-industrial character. Touristic attractiveness of this province is mostly based on natural valor - most frequently visited mountains are Bieszczady. A lot of monuments, especially sacred, can be found there. The biggest city of the region and, at the same time, its capital is Rzeszów, which has the only in Podkarpacie international airport. Among 49 cities of this province 3 more are with the rights of county: Krosno, Tarnobrzeg and Przemyśl.In the last years the ski base in Podkarpacie has improved. Bieszczady are more and more popular for the enthusiasts of winter fun. There were new investments into development of resorts, chair lifts, parking lots, new hotels and hostels were built.The most popular place in the region is Ustrzyki Dolne, which have two ski stations and the biggest amount of ski runs. Gromadzyń station is dedicated rather for beginners. More advanced skiers won’t be disappointed with the ski runs offered by Laworta ski resort. In both stations all the ski runs are illuminated, artificially snowed and snow groomed. Nearby you can find big parking lots, restaurants, bars, ski schools, equipment rentals and agrotouristic farms.In Sanok there is a ski resort “Karlików”, which is illuminated and can be artificially snowed, if necessary. The biggest number of skiers comes here in the weekends. There is a little hotel with restaurant and parking lot for the guests.Ski route in Przemyśl becomes more and more popular. It is placed close to the city centre- on the north-west slope of mount Zniesienie. Two chair lifts were built there, which operate on two pistes 1600m long. You can find there ski service and equipment rental, in the centre nearby you can find a lot of restaurants and coffee houses. In the summer you can try bike routes.In Weremienie next to Lesko you can find winter sport resort ”Lesko-Ski”. There is a lift for two parallel routes with total length of 1430m. The slope is illuminated and artificially snowed. There is also snowpark prepared especially for snowboarders.Other resorts which you can find in Podkarpacie are, among others, Kiczera Mountains in Puławy Górne, with chair lift, there are also routes for cross-country skiing prepared. Enthusiasts of skiing can also visit Arłamów.
