Before putting on your skis, check the snow conditions at Bardonecchia one last time.
Height and quality of the snow, date of the last snowfall, today's weather, temperature, wind... all the information you are looking for to have a great day of skiing. Please note Bardonecchia snow reports are sourced directly from the ski resort and are only recorded during the official ski season's opening to closing dates.
Fresh snow means significantly more of the resort open than on Monday. Nothing has been groomed so lots of fun to be had in loose snow! Jafferau was awesome yesterday with only about 50 people ion the whole mountain.
Bardonecchia, with over 100 km of slopes and 23 ski lifts, is made up two ski areas. On one side there's the area that includes Colomion, Les Arnauds and Melezet, which is characteristized by wide slopes that cut through the forest. A thick and artistic spider web of slopes connects Campo Smith (1330 m) in the center of town to the vast plateaus of Vallon Cros, which at 2400 m of altitude is above the treeline.
Five minutes from downtown, connected via a free skibus, is the Jafferau resort (highest point 2800 m). Here most of the slopes are out of the forest which allows for an unparalleled view of the surrounding mountains and infinite possibilities of off trail itineraries in the spring.
Jafferau is famous for having hosted all of the Turin 2006 Winter Olympic snowboarding events at the Melezet snowpark.
Bardonecchia is easy to reach by car or by train, thanks to the train station located just a few hundred meters from the slopes. There's something for everyone and the fact that it's a real mountain town makes it a perfect destination for a fun and relaxing family vacation filled with sports, nature and good food.
