A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Great skiing for a mixed capability group, great fun. 15km black run and added excitement of the tunnel, was a plus for the more experienced skiers in our group.
Trip over to Alpe D’huez and La follie D was great fun and not to be missed.
Ski Peaks chalet and service was excellent, added the extra touch to our break.

Vaujany is a beautiful resort linked into a huge ski area. We have been the last few years and it never fails to impress. The facilities and infrastructure are second to none due to the amount of money the resort receives from EDF. The skiing is awesome and you can get from
Vaujany at 1200m to 2800m in around 10 mins - from there you can head up to Pic Blanc at 3300m. Highly recommend this place.

Vaujany is an extremely beautiful village resort with very friendly inhabitants. The ski runs in the Vaujany/Oz area have kept us as intermediate skiiers content for several weeks.Going over into the Alpe d'Huez area was quite a shock to find out how much busier it was and how you have to queue for the lifts again, a rarety in Vaujany/Oz. Although we didn't venture too far off piste - there were plenty of others who did.
The ski school and lunch club option for the kids is wonderful as too is the creche which my youngest has been very happy in. The pool complex and the ice rink are both great options incase you haven't worn the kids out enough on the slopes.
One of the main drawbacks we have found is that most of the restaurants don't start serving in the evening until 6.30/7pm onwards which was just too late for our brood. Pre-ordering a roasted chicken at the shop and another day using the pizzeria which is open from 5pm helped with that problem.

We'd never heard of this place and only found it when the main resorts were full one half term. We've now been back every year since.
Great creche for our youngest and the other 2 have been quite happy in the ski school.
Slopes on Vaujany side are always quiet and rarely have to queue for lifts. If you want more black runs then you'll want to head over to Alp D'Huez side.
Night life is restricted to a couple of bars and handful of restaurants, which suits us but might be too quiet for others.

Vaujany is a village transformed into a Station by substantial investment over the last 20 years. For most intermediates it is a lovely peaceful 'backdoor' into the extensive and varied terrain of Alpe d'Huez; l'Alpe is a fairly ugly and boisterous village, whereas Vaujany is quieter and much prettier. For experts, lifts to altitude give access to some fabulous, steep off piste. For families with young children, the attractions of the Vaujany ski area itself will probably suffice, along with the highly rated creche and ESF ski school. Extensive use of escalators and lifts allow easy movement around the steep, sunny South facing village, and the facilities belie its size - a 25m pool with slides and a large ice rink aren't usually found in a commune with 300 permanent inhabitants. There are a few nice restaurants and more lively bars, but this is a place where the apres is less important than the ski.
