My favourite ski resort and great also for non skiers and great hiking in summer: Positives: Zermatt is a beautiful town with a stunning backdrop of scenery. The ski areas are connected so you can ski in Italy, the glacier, Riffelalp and Sunnegga in one day. Typically found the pistes to be excellent condition, well groomed and quiet The nightlight is very good appealing to many age groups. Lots of places have free live music of different styles. Restaurants are amazing but you don't have to spend a lot and seek out better value places like the Brown Cow or Grampies. Grown up (rather than teenage) Apres Ski options - eg Cervo and Bar 55 Good shopping Easy to get to from Zurich / Geneva airports with a train. Just over 3 hours and one change. Chill and look out the window. Cons: Hotels are a bit pricey. Used Tasch last time which is a very easy ride to Zermatt and a nice town itself. It takes time to get skiing as you have to take a lift up. The links to Italy can be closed a lot due to wind.
