Inside Scoop

Reviews

Vercorin is a hidden gem in the Valais region of Switzerland. It is centrally located and is only 2 hours from Geneva aiport. This is real Switzerland and is not full of tour operators and other commercial companies. Real people live in the village all year round and they run local businesses. There are 2 ski schools in the village and there is also ski school at the top of the mountain. The mountain staff are always friendly and the middle station serves real home made food. Great place for little people to learn to ski and fun for adults who want long and varied slopes in beautiful scenery. No queues to speak of and off season you have the place to yourself. Vercorin is not the biggest resort in the Alps but has great character, atmosphere, good hotels with excellent food. All the amenities are there except posh shops. The Swiss come here for their holidays and the Brits have not discovered it yet. Vercorin is a safe place for families and everything is within easy reach on foot. We love it and plan to go back year after year. You can venture further into the valley and visit Grimentz, St Luc, Zinal and Chandolin all using the same lift pass, you can go somewhere different every day if you like and it is like going to a new resort because they are all so different. Also an amazing plave to visit in the summer too.
