Verbier is not just one place. It is a wide ranging mountains Fanning out from the “town” Verbier. Not unlike Vail Colorado Verbier feels like a town that really seems to be a network of resort hotels, condos, and expensive shops and restaurants. That’s not to say that it’s not charming but it’s not really an original town...it’s an incredibly high end full-service ski resort.. That is the good news, and the bad news. It was almost too much to do! It’s fantastic for intermediate at expert skiers, but it’s a little steep and a little of overwhelming for newbies. The bus system is perfect, but it’s unclear where to go or the how to get there. I recommend parking down in the village below and taking the gondola up. And learning a little French to communicate better! The staff there are incredibly nice and you’ll have a ball just don’t plan on making it just one day trip try to stay a couple days.

Super fun great atmosphere, but everything aside from the lift tickets is crazy expensive, easily spent over 1500 just on food over 8 days.

I've gone to Verbier for several years now and I love it! There are so many slopes to choose from! Great for people who like off pistes too!
Usually great weather and great powder. Also amazing for expert and intermediate skiers!
It's okay for beginners but with only three greens you should take classes.
It's also awesome for kids. There are several ski schools to choose from (I recommend the swiss ski school).
The après ski is amazing as well with a bunch of little cafés and restaurants to wind down and have a coffee.
The only bad thing I can say about Verbier is that it's expensive. It is worth it though!
Go to Verbier and you will be so happy you did!

Accomodation booked 3month in advance in new hotel 4* "La Cordée des Alpes" with around 800 Sfr per night rate.On arrival found out the hotel still under construction, Stayed 1 night in ugly smelly room, moved to other hotel next day. "La Cordée des Alpes" charged me 4300sfr for that 1night in bomb shell room. My advice :Stay a way from these crooks at least til they finish building their hut.
General impression: Poor service during high season, too much visitors,so why to care, for example, in mountain restourant "Olimpique" they would ask you to leave, as soon as as you finished your meal, "becouse other people waiting for your table"
Skiing much better in Zermatt, night life and fun much better in St.Moriz.
Verbier -never again

If you want to see the model for all the Vails, Beaver Creeks, Squaw Valleys, etc then come to Verbier. It's got the original ski town feel and the mountain to boot! Ski-in/ski-out chalets (you have to see these things), the most fun places to apres-ski, an amazing mountain with more terrain than you'll find almost anywhere else. What more could you want? This is the real deal. Spend your time learning to ski on the lower lifts, test your ability and courage on the Montfort glacier, catch some sun at the end of the day at the many different places to apres. Go to Verbier, you'll never foget it.
Went skiing in Verbier from the 26-29th of December. Had two blue bird powder days with fantastic conditions. Powder was a bit heavy but with all terrain skis the off-piste was doable. Generally had quick lift lines but was surprised by the lack of lifts in certain areas where it seemed obvious to have them. The groomed trails were great and saw almost no evidence of ice. The terrain here is the best I have ever skied and the conditions allowing you to see over a vast expanse of the alps made for an unbelievable experience. The nightlife and town of Verbier lived up to the hype as well. But be prepared to shell out money for apres-ski. It is after all Verbier... in Switzerland.

We came to Verbier some 15 years ago, and have been back almost every year since. So we packed the house and moved to Verbier...
Job done.

We spent a long weekend in Verbier a few years ago. While the conditions were not spectacular, the size of the mountain (actually, mountains) was impressive and the different types of terrain was great. Verbier is a series of interconnected peaks that can be, at times, a little difficult to figure out (the scale to which the trail maps are drawn is misleading - we were looking for a lift that appeared to be on the left side of the base area when reading the map -- it turned out to be across town on the other wall of the valley). As usual, the Swiss people were very nice and the town, though small, had a decent number of restaurants, bars, and shops. I am sure that with a little practice and some local knowledge, Verbier can be a great destination.

Fantastic mountain, certainly one of the best resorts I've skied in Europe. Incredible amount off off-piste terrain that's accessible by lifts. Even several days after a storm, I found loads of fresh powder just off a poma lift. Skied off the back of Mont Fort on Day 2, but you really need a guide for that unless you are skiing with experienced and well-equipped friends with local knowledge.
Verbier is a great all round ski resort, it has something for everyone. Great on piste/off piste excellent nightlife and ease for international guests. Although one down side is, Verbier seems to have sold its soul a little and could well be an English Mountain. When booking a hoilday avoid the tour operator Ski Freedom, we had an almost holiday ruining stay with them, on one of our visits.
