A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Nice high open location with many runs to challenge non-beginners. But what's with all the T bar drag lifts?! Haven't seen one for 20 years and this must be where they've all ended up. Horrible and antiquated lift system that urgently needs updating. Slopes are way too steep and icy for safe T bars. Too many other resorts do better than this and with MUCH cheaper lift passes. Won't ever be going back.

I skied here in January this year and it was beautiful. There are several beginner/early intermediate runs. We stayed in Thyon-les-Collons at Hotel Cambuse's amazing chalet in the woods. You use the hotel's skiroom and walk across from there right to a T-bar lift. There is also a car park there and a liftpass office so you can get straight on the slopes. The slopes were so quiet. No queues, very peaceful. A lovely place to ski. I imagine Thyon 2000 would be ideal for beginners as you don't have to get on a draglift to get to the slopes and it's very gentle and at a good altitude for snow. I would definitely consider staying there. It would be nice to have more chairlifts in the area. You can ski some long red runs down to Mayen-de-L'Ours and Veysonnaz, so there is something for everyone.

Great value, family-friendly resort, best for beginners and intermediates although Verbier is only 90 minutes away. Good ski school and extensive local blue and red pistes. A few blacks but limited off-piste unless you head towards Verbier. Some nice mountain restaurants but little night life beyond a few bars with occasional live music.

This skiing vast, caters for everyone from extreme to young families
Feels less busy and safe, lift queues seldom
Ski to Verbier and back in a day or focus on the local skiing with famous women's down hill run on doorstep
Conditions better than average always
Restaurants all good quality both in mountains and in town
Underrated!

You'll have a hard time finding a better place to enjoy winter sports than Thyon-Région having great snow from November to April it is a skiers and boarders dream. The Val d’Herens is located in the heart of the Swiss alps on the Eastern side of the four valleys system one of the largest ski regions in Europe.
The area has over 400 kms of pistes and 100 ski lifts that seamlessly link - Thyon, Veysonnaz, Nedaz and Verbier.
There really is something for everyone, Thyon 2000 has wide open sunny slpoes for beginners and more challengin slopes for the intermediate and advance, including large areas of off piste the Billabong board park with nursery slopes for the little ones.
Thyon is one of the least know resorts in the 4 valleys, but not to say it’s not one of the best. Benefiting from the same lift system and similar altituds, the Thyon region offers better value for money and is less crowded than it’s better know neighbourgh Verbier. If you are looking for a true taste of traditional Switzerland this is the area to visit just relax and enjoy the fablouse views over the untouched alpine paradise.
With Evolene and Crans-Montana just a short drive away and the medieval city of Sion at the foot of the mountain everything is within close striking distance. Sion with it’s monastry and castle has a cosmopolitian feel with world class restaurants and designer shopping.
I was in Thyon Les Collins for a lads weekend skiing in January. The Snow was good overall and the on piste slopes well maintained. The views from the mountain top of Thyon are great. It was also great not having may long lift waits. There are some great long (approx 4km) red runs which you should be really feeling the burn in your legs if you ski hard enough. There are plenty of food and beverage stop on the mountain but most are not cheap.
The hotel beside the ‘Joc’ lift does good daily local dish and is reasonable by on the mountain standards.
There is not a great deal of Apres-Ski night life in the village except for couple of Bars and some nice restaurants.
