Low visibility today and overcast skies made for challenging conditions on the face of the slopes, some of the wooded trails were easier to navigate. Fresh snow in the afternoon helped prevent the slopes from being rutted out but definitely got more icey as the day went on. Most of the runs are open...

Now new year is over it is very quiet with short ques. The temp went up today which has made things a little soft. But there is still a lot more snow than this time last year

We have had 5 days of glorious sunshine over New Year. Crans Montana has a number of decent red and black runs which are groomed overnight and so make for excellent skiing first thing in the morning. Crans Montana is an ok resort. It is badly designed e.g. to get to a blue you have to go on a black. It is not very well labelled with no signs on the slopes. Over the new year it is very crowded and the longest lift queue we stood in took 40 minutes. It is south facing so this week, when there was ...
