Only 25 minute transfer from Innsbruck. Lovely town with plenty to do for non skiers.
Good for beginners but intermediates/experts will ski both mountains within a day.
Very famous area. It is a really very beautiful place for making holidays. What makes the area so special is the big variety you can do beside skiing. You can go ice skating, toboggan, skating, swimming, ski touring or just taking a walk in the beautiful nature.
There are several ski areas. The most interesting ones are the Gschwandtkopf and the Rosshütte. There are some smaller areas with only one or two lifts which are very flat and very good for beginners. Also the Gschwandtkopf is more an area for beginners and families. Easy slopes most ones are blue and there are also some red ones. The slopes are very bride and on this mountain you will learn skiing very quick.
The Rosshütte is the biggest area in this surrounding. You have some very bride and long runs, the most of them are blue, red and there are also some black ones. The area also offers some off pist runs. You have a very beautiful view onto the Tyrolean mountains. You also have the possibility for night skiing and to go toboggan. There are several huts with good meals on the mountain and also in the village.
In the evenings you can also do a lot of things like going to sauna, casino, bars or to good restaurants. Seefeld really offers nearly everything for a perfect holiday and if this is not enough Innsbruck is quite close for some additional opportunities. I recommend this area to people who are not focused only on skiing.
Seefeld is the perfect place for cross country skiing. The village is great with many hotels, restaurants and bars. The down hill skiing is restricted but enough for a weeks skiing of the average ability. It is perfect for beginners and and children of all ages can have the time of their life on the next to town lower hills, or skating, swimming and tobogganing. The walkways in the lower hills are kept in good condition and the mountains and hills are covered by many lovely inns and bars. We come back year after year.
Seefeld is a beutiful village, especially in the winter. It is one of the main centers for cross country skiing in the Alps. The village is very quaint. The swimming pool and spa at the Olympic sport center is beyond anything we have in America. Seefeld skiing is very simple but a nice place to ski. It is small for Alps standards but overall very pleasant. Some difficult skiing under the tram.
