Reviews

Where to go if there is not much snow on the mountains. A good choice is to go to the Pitztal. I always go there at the beginning and at the end of the season. A subway takes you quickly up to 2800m. From there are all the lifts are starting. You have some lovely very long slopes direct on the glacier. The slopes are also very bright and normally the people are well distributed over the whole area so you have enough space and freedom for your turns. Because of that you also do not have to wait long at the lift stations. Most of the slopes are red but you will also find some easier ones. There are some difficult runes where it is not clear if it is a slope or not. A few possibilities for freeriding you will find too but it could be dangerous because of the glacier. A great opportunity you have for touring you can go up to one of the highest peaks in Austria to the Wildspitz but with touring skies. They also have a good funpark . Near the glacier area there is another quite interesting ski area the Riffelseebahn. You have some very good runs over there. So skiing in the Pitztal for about one week you won´t get bored. Only on the evenings there is not much going on. Actually there is one disco but the people are missing. I think the Pitztal area has a bit for everybody if you look on the skiing possibilities. My opinion is that it is a good choice to go there for skiing.
