We've been coming to Andalo/Fai della Pagenella since 2007. We just love it. We've skiied all over the Italian Dolomites but we keep returning to Andalo. The price value is incredible and the charming village and food can't be beat. This is a great kept secret. The views on the mountains are the most beautiful I've seen in all the Dolomites, the food in the refugios is so local and delicious. Big resorts like Livigno are just too big and commerical for us. We prefer small Italian charm. Selva and the Sella Ronda area are also our favorites but again, Andalo just has this small town charm. The Fai piste is 14 km long and you must do it in the morning. The resort is small but the red runs are really red. Advanced skiiers will get bored after a while (this is the main reason we decided to try other places) so take a day to ski at nearby resorts. Also go later in the season--we had to cancel our 2015 ski trip booked for the second week of January because there was not enough snow. But that was the first time that ever happened to us in Andalo--we've gone several times around Christmas and there was already plenty of snow. Just keep this resort to yourself though. Let's keep it a secret please!
