San Martino di Castrozza-Passo Rolle-Primiero and Vanoi, located in the heart of the Dolomite Mountains which are known for their quaint towns, hospitality and Paneveggio Natural Park, are much more than just a ski destination.The San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle ski area enjoys a unique position in the Dolomites: located at the southern tip of the Dolomiti Superski ski area it boasts mild temperatures and countless sunny days.The ski area offers more than 60 km of downhill slopes between 1,404 m and 2,357 m above sea level. The unique natural landscape has something to offer skiers of all ability levels frombeginners to expert skiers. Perfect ski conditions are ensured by 15 snowcats which work every night to prepare the groom the slopes for the next day. In total there are 23 ski lifts, including the fast automatic coupling cableways of Tognola and Colverde and the four-seat chairlift of Punta Ces with its little plexiglas domes. The new Rosetta cableway, with cabins that can carry up to 40 people, provides access to the Altopiano dello Pale, an impressive plateau ideal for snow-shoeing and ski-touring.Access to all the slopes in the ski area, including the Rolle and Cereda passes, is facilitated by a free shuttle service.Currently 95% of the entire ski area is covered by artificial snowmaking capabilities all season long. At Rolle Pass, where you can ski at over 2000 m above sea level, the season goes from the end of November to the end of April, while at San Martino the lifts work from the beginning of December to Easter.Events, excursions of every kind, and après-ski entertainment make this corner of Trentino a perfect vacation spot.
