Overview

In the heart of the Pyrenees and at the foot of one of the highest peaks in the range, many of which tower 3000 metres high, you will find the authentic resort of Luchon. In the centre of Luchon, the ski-lift allows direct access to the slopes of Superbagnères in just 8 minutes. Access is also granted to another three areas that offer a wide variety of sun soaked terrain and skiing for all abilities. Beginners and children can rejoice with the peace and tranquillity that is found at the heart of the forest, or higher up in the alpine where the long and mellow runs that gradually sweep back down to the village overlooking through some of the Pyrenees’ most majestic scenery. Freestyle lovers can enjoy the sensation of flying in the new snow park, while in the meantime children can learn to ski in the lively, fun and secure Kids Park. To ski and live the snow dream in Superbagnères, the Pyrenean resort that makes the most from all its natural assets; three natural high alpine plateaus at 1440 m, 1800 m and 2260 m. The four sides of the resort each have breath-taking views over the Luchon Valley, Vénasque Massif, Maladeta, Céciré and the Pico Aneto, which is said to be "the roof of the Pyrenees." With its mild climate and 32 km of marked ski runs, the resort of Superbagnères is an insight into the future of skiing. The ultra-modern gondola system is promoted to a maximum in order to minimise the use of cars and to protect the environment. Superbagnères also has a 3 km cross country skiing route, a toboggan run, snowpark, Kids Park and a learning centre for kids. The resort also has 160 snow cannons, which constantly reinforce the natural snow and prolong the season. When the sports are over for the day, you’ll be happy to know that the fun won’t stop. In Luchon there are all of the facilities you would expect to find in a thriving resort; large hotels, spas, restaurants, a cinema, casino and a few nightclubs. Finally, Luchon is the place to try out a handful of new winter sports, other than skiing. There is paragliding, snowshoeing and a range of other activities laid on by the local professionals. If that’s not for you simply take a trip to the Spa, let your hair down and relax.
