A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
I visited with my husband and son, both of whom are better skiers than me (they're good intermediates and I'm a lower/cautious intermediate.) I found the blues pretty steep and difficult mostly, so ended up going down the same ones numerous times, while they were able to go on a lot more slopes. We liked the place, but if you're not all confident intermediates at least, you will be limited as to possible slopes. We will choose a bigger resort with lots of slopes of all colours next time.

Have skied Les Angles a few times now, and return for a reason, its fun, sometimes challenging, great views over the valley and lake and some quite long runs. There are some reds which each time we have visited have been closed, and it can be windy which closes some chairs and hence runs. Overall, one of the best resorts in the eastern pyrenees.
If you have never skied the Pyrenees before this is a good place to start. Only 90 minutes from a number of lowcost airports it is very easy to access from UK and Ireland. The resort is based in a real village, largely unspoilt, which makes a pretty backdrop to some fairly interesting skiing. Hotels and apartment residences cluster around the foot of the pistes making 'ski to slope' possible in most cases. Après-ski is limited to a pizza, pint and sing-song in the local bars ... preceded by a trip to the hot springs at St Thomas-les-Bains where you can wallow in 36° thermal baths surrounded by snow in outdoor pools. Sublime! We went with local agent francealacarte but you could arrange your own trip on the internet if you have a few hours.
