We have visited for 4 years and love this village we are a group of 3 generations with small children 4/8 not too worried about all night apres ski etc . Local swimming pool is expensive but magical to swim outdoors at night in the snow or when snowing.
Love the Alpine Village

Visiting from Boulder, Colorado, USA. Previous ski trip was to Dolomites and St Anton. Spent one week staying in Les Carroz starting mid-march 2016. Recommended by "Where to Ski and Snowboard." Great snow, pistes, weather, people - total fun. Les Carroz has a great central location. Also had day trips by driving to and skiing Chamonix (Le Flygere and Le Brevent) and Avoriaz (Porte du Soleil). Both excellent areas and a reasonable drive, if good road conditions. It's worth skiing Les Cascades from the top down to Sixt (we walked part of the last bit). Views of Mt Blanc are incredible. Lifts stayed open late, when we got 'lost'. Tree-lined pistes for snowy/foggy days, which we didn't experience.
Good central location, friendly, reasonable prices.
Not the quaintest French village, but still nice.

No snow at Christmas. Slushy snow at the bottom in the afternoon

Good place to go. Will go again.
Well maintained. Excellent variety of intermediate slopes. Great selection of restaurants in the village.
Expensive doesn't always mean good. Too steep for most learners.
We ski every year at les Carroz, lovely little alpine village between Geneva & Chamonix, and never get tired of it. Part of the Grand Massif which includes Morillon (one lovely long green in the forest) Samoens Flaine. Plenty of variety and well groomed pistes, good for beginners and intermediates up to expert - intrepid souls wanting treacherous blacks go elsewhere. Best time to go is January for empty pistes and no wait for lifts. Good mountain restaurants and the best salle hors sac (picnic room) in the alpes, with stunning views over the valley. The season pass is very good value if bought pre-season and includes several days at other local resorts. Night life is modest but serious skiers tend to avoid starting the day with a hangover. Super place super ski.
Good high pistes, mostly wooded, access to Flaine but why would you bother?
Not many black pistes
