A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Over development, only one lift out of the village, little snow making and that’s not used enough, south facing slopes, the two red runs down to the village rarely open so the telecabin down gets busy. Shame it was once a great place to ski but now the building developers have moved in.

Beautiful (and quiet) resort situated at the edge of the gigantic La Plagne / Les Arcs ski area. Some great hidden gems to be found here!

Just come back from an amazing family holiday in Champagny. The snow was fantastic. Stayed in Club Alpina which is in a brilliant location to the gondola and ski school. Would def go back to this resort. Lots and lots of skiing for intermediates. You can go for miles.... Cannot wait for next year to return.

Yes the first review was definitely Les Coches or Montchavin, not Campagny which is miles away (but still on system). I've stayed in Bozel near Champagny several times now so it's a short drive up to Champagny, but parking is right by the gondola, it's a great way into the la Plagne sectors. The Champagny sector has some big south facing runs from the top of the Verdons. The run through the trees back to the village (using the road ,mostly) has mostly been pretty tricky on my visits, narrow and icy, and at the end of the day I prefer to put my tired legs on the gondola and ride down.. I would point out that there is no gondola up to Champagny le Haute you have to drive up there.
I believe the original person to have reviewed Chapagny-en-Vanoise must have confused it will the village of Les Coches, which has motivated me to write this review to correct any confusion that may arrise. Both Champagny-en-Vanoise and Les Coches are satellite villages of La Plagne, but they are in very different locations.
Les Coches is in the centre of the Paradiski domain and is a departure point for the Vanoise Express linking to Peisey in Les Arcs. A great spot for those who want to explore all of Paradiski (Les Arcs and La Plagne). Champagny, on the other hand, is located in the La Plagne ski domain, but on the other side of the mountain. It actually shares the same valley as the Three Valleys, and Courchevel can be seen in the distance across the valley. Meaning that to access it, you would take the train to Moutiers rather than to Bourg Saint Maurice or Aime La Plagne. If you are confused, check out the Paradiski interactive map: http://www.paradiski.com/skiplan/skiplan.php?lang=en
It's a great location if you want to stay someplace particulary beautiful: the village is tucked into a tree-filled mountain side and gives the feeling of a real mountain village, with chalet-style buildings - not just purpose-built apartment blocks like most of La Plagne. I think that it is particularly good for all levels of downhill skiers, but I would not reccommend it for experts that want a good location to explore all of Paradiski (it would be a very difficult feat to go over to Les Arcs to ski from here). And of course, it is a wonderful location to be for those who cross-country ski as it is linked by gondola to Champgny-le-Haut, gateway to the Vanoise National Park.

I spent 48 hours in Champagny last month when I was skiing the giant Paradiski Region so I got a feel for the place without really knowing it in great depth.
What i liked was the great location with the vast terrain of la plagne right next to you and the spectacular 200 person double-decker Vanoise Express cable car link to the Les Arcs terrain, with as much skiing again, right next door. So really it's in the heart of the area and one of the few places where you can stay and ski all the way to either end of the 250 miles of piste and get back in a day.
We visited a couple of nice cafe restaurants in Champagny ityself, there were a lot of Brits there, some of the buildings were original farmhouses and alot of the new building was quite tasteful and much better than older parts of La Plagne.
