Piani di Bobbio is a nice resort, but not as beginners friendly as i thought. I have been skiing for 20 plus years but wanted to find an easy to get to resort from Malpensa, as my 3 year old daughter suffers from car sickness. If you plan on going Monday to Thursday, you will probably have a nice time as the resort doesn’t get packed and you will find a parking spot in the parking next to the cable car departing point, and so it would all be relative le quick. With kids, i’d suggest renting equipment in the shops by the slopes, so you don’t have to carry boots and skis up the mountain. The biggest disappointment is that they don’t have a beginner’s ski carpet (the only one they have is reserved for the ski instructors) which despite being a relative le easy resort, is at odds, as a total beginner child would need to take a Chair lift and ski a 1km blue piste, as the “easiest” option, which really doesn’t make sense! They have 2 carpets for bona going downhill, 1 of which is actually closed during the week, and it would make a lot more sense of 1 of them was reserved for total beginners to practice for their post ski instructor solo skiing.
