Istebna lies on the hillside of Złote Gronie In Beskid Śląski, from 590 to 620 m.a.s.l. Administratively it belongs to the southern part of Silesia. Istebna, Jaworzynka and Koniaków make, so called, Beskidzka Trójwieś, with about 11 thousand inhabitants.Accommodation base of the region develops dynamically and has currently 1500 places, in hotels, guest houses and guest rooms. Local restaurants, as well as agrotouristic farms offer delicious and healthy meals.Istebna, thanks to cross-country ski routes on Kubalonka, is a real paradise for cross-country skiers. Modernized and developed ski routes around Kubalonka Pass, leading to Stercówka and Wisła- Czarne, which total length is 15 km, are snow groomed every day. Cross-country ski routes prepared for competitors are also available to all cross-country skiing amateurs. Alpine skiing and snowboard enthusiast can use the offers of several ski resorts. Most of the ski routes in Istebna is located on the northern slopes of Złote Gronie. The biggest resorts are Złoty Groń and Zagroń.Istebna is regarded as a highlander centre of Beskid Śląski, that’s why it is worth visiting local monument and museums. You can get there from Katowice, through Skoczów and Wisła or also from Bielsko- Biała. In Istebna there is no railway station. The nearest railway station is in Wisła Głębce. People traveling from bigger cities, first should get to Wisła, where it is necessary to change to the bus running directly to Istebna. There is also a bus connection from Cieszyn.
