Overview

Forni di Sopra, which is a village located in the high part of the Tagliamento Valley (between the Carnia and the Cadore areas), is a fantastic place: situated just in the heart of the Furlan Dolomites, the little village is characterized by a setting of great and peerless beauty that makes you feel the atmosphere of a fairy tale. 16 km of slopes are addressed both to the beginners, on the Davost side, and to the more experienced skiers on the Varmost side. Moreover, the cross-country skiers and the children are pleased respectively by 13 km of tracks and a snow park. However, Forni di Sopra does not mean only winter because his naturalistic features allow the tourists to practice a wide range of different activities all year-round. And all of them in direct and constant contact with the nature. The ski resort, which, thanks to the opening of the chair-lifts Varmost 1 and 2, works as well in summer time, has a broad offer of trails suitable for hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking and Nordic walking. Besides, the village is well-equipped with different sports facilities: tennis courts, bowling courts, a football pitch and a polyvalent centre with courts and pitches dedicated to the team sports (five-a-side, basket, tennis, bowling,..). Finally, thanks to the well developed tourism system and the renowned gastronomic tradition, Forni di Sopra is an alpine site of excellent versatility.
