Foppolo, at 1495 m. sea level, has always been the peak ski resort of Val Brembana. The valley in which it resides, a basin at the foot of the mountains of Montebello Valgussera and between Orobie, is a very fascinating mountain, often seen as a small valley.Recently the area has been connected, through the ski lifts in the Carisolo area with Carona, making available a vast ski area (approx. 30 Km) with slopes of all difficulties. Facilities, which are rather dated, are the subject of restructuring and also provide the link with St. Simon (now the places are connected by ski bus). The most notable pistes are the Montebello and Valgussera. Some pistes are approved for Italian and international competitions.Next to the ski slope, the area allows alpine skiing, and snowmobiling, for which there is a path to Foppolo. To complete the fcilities there is an ice rink and a snow park which were recently created.
