We have visited Gstaad a few times and apparently it is much nicer since the main street was pedestrianised and mrs thatcher stopped visiting, apparently it was her favourite resort and James Bond 007 and David Niven were also here a lot, Sophia Loren had a suiter in ther posh Palace Hotel I think. What I likled was that each morning you clomped out of the beautiful hotel in your ski boots and you could get on a train going left to the French speaking area and get off a few miles down the line at Rougemont and get on the gondola up, or go left in to the German speaking area and do the same at a resort like Saasnenmoser. You could decide which each morning and even change during the day as it was all included in your lift ticket - brilliant!
