Overview

Les Saisies village is small, family-friendly ski resort that has conserved through its evolution, the traditional architecture that is flawlessly intertwined with the natural surroundings. Dubbed by some the "French Tyrol" (for the beautiful landscapes and breath-taking views of surrounding mountains, including Mont-Blanc) or even "The breadbasket of Savoyard snow" (for the exceptional snow conditions) Les Saisies is situated 50 minutes from Albertville, between the Beaufortain and the Val d'Arly, or, more importantly between the Savoie and the Haute Savoie. The alpine ski area of Les Saisies has considerably grown in recent years. It now has 70 km of marked ski runs around the resort along with the skiing in the neighbouring villages of Hauteluce and Bisanne 1500. Thanks to the new lift stretching between Les Saisies and Notre Dame de Bellecombe the resort has facilitated its access with other resorts within the Espace Diamant, leading to even more breath-taking views and amazing skiing. The natural, more or less easy to intermediate ski runs which visitors can find in Les Saisies are ideal for children and beginners. The collection of newer slopes are notably much more athletic. The world famous Nordic ski area in Les Saisies made the headlines when the resort hosted all the Nordic events in the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics. The 140 km of Nordic trails are among the highest in Europe. The altitude and microclimate enjoyed by the Col des Saisies has a large snowfall from mid-December to late April. Crossing over plateaus and forests, dotted with small openings, the Nordic ski area in Les Saisies is an exceptionally beautiful area, what with the views of Mont Blanc, it is peaceful, far from the ski lifts and crowds. In Les Saisies you'll be spoiled for choice for entertainment and activities other than skiing. Among others the "Twister Mountain" (a sled mounted on rails, which plummets nearly 800m down, through mad alternating banked turns up to 8m from the ground, whoops and two 360 ° spirals, guaranteed thrills! There is also the skijoring, night skiing, snowshoeing or sledding, paragliding, snowmobiling and shooting (biathlon). In terms of child care, Les Saisies has the "Teddy Club" (a nursery for children 2 to 3 years old), the "Kids Village", supervised by the ESF (French Ski School) or even kindergarten "Gliss Passion " managed by the ESI. At any age, kids can discover the joys winter, skiing and taking part in the various other activities on offer.
